Rust server monitoring
FastPing queries your Rust server on its Steam query port and alerts you when it stops answering, for example after a crash during a wipe.

How it works
- FastPing sends a Steam A2S_INFO query over UDP to the server's query port.
- The reply contains the server name, map, players, maximum players and version.
- Two unanswered checks in a row open an incident and alert you.
What FastPing checks
- Online status
The server answers the query within 5 seconds.
- Players
Players online and maximum, charted over 24 hours, with an optional low-player warning.
- Map and version changes
An optional alert when the server reports a new map name or version, for example after an update.
- Latency
The round trip of the query, measured from Helsinki.
Set it up
Create a Game server monitor and choose Steam / Source (A2S). Enter the server address and its query port, as set with server.queryport in your start-up command or host panel. Attach a Discord webhook channel and save.
Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, write to us. We reply by email, usually within one business day.
Contact supportWhich port do I enter for Rust?
The query port set with server.queryport, not the game port players connect to. You find it in your start-up command or your host's panel.
Will I be alerted during a planned wipe?
Yes, if the server stops answering for two checks in a row. Pause the monitor before a planned wipe if you do not want alerts.
Can FastPing restart my server?
No. FastPing monitors and alerts, and has no access to your server. A webhook alert can trigger your own restart automation.
Can outages be posted to our Discord?
Yes. Add a Discord webhook as an alert channel and attach it to the monitor: down and recovery messages are posted automatically, with no bot to host.
