Cookie Policy
The cookies and browser storage the FastPing website uses, in the same two categories as the cookie banner.

A cookie is a small text file that your browser stores for a website and sends back with each request. Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) is similar but stays in the browser. This policy covers fastping.app, including the dashboard. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
In brief
- No analytics, advertising or social media cookies. The only cookies from another company are Cloudflare’s security cookies.
- Two categories, as in the cookie banner: Strictly necessary (always on) and Preferences (only with your consent).
- Status pages, badges and widgets set no cookies at all.
1. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies make sign-in, forms and your cookie choice work. They are always on, because the site cannot work without them, and they need no consent. The cookie settings list them as your sign-in session, the security token that protects forms and your cookie choice; two short-lived ones are added only in the situations described below.

Set by Cloudflare
Cloudflare, which carries the traffic to fastping.app, may set these cookies when its protection against automated attacks needs them. They are not used to track you.

2. Preferences
These remember the choices you make on the site. We set them only if you allow Preferences in the cookie banner or the cookie settings.

If you do not allow Preferences, the language you pick is carried in the page address instead, and your theme and animation settings are kept in sessionStorage for the current tab only, which your browser deletes when you close it. If you are signed in, your language is also saved in your account, which needs no cookie.
3. Status pages, badges and widgets
Public status pages, including their subscription pages, feeds and status.json, as well as badges, embeddable widgets and heartbeat URLs, set no cookies, whether they are served from fastping.app or from a customer’s own domain.
A status page can remember two things in your browser’s storage. The theme you pick there uses fp-theme under the same rule as above. If you pause its automatic refresh, fp-sp-refresh is kept in sessionStorage for that tab only, so the page stays still while you read it.
4. Your choice and how to change it
On your first visit the cookie banner offers three equal choices: Accept all, Reject non-essential and Customise. Without JavaScript the same choices work as plain forms. Your choice is kept for 12 months; after that, or when we add a new category of cookies, we ask again.

When you reject or withdraw Preferences, we delete the fp_lang cookie and stop using localStorage: your theme and animation settings are then kept in sessionStorage only.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you cannot sign in or send forms.
6. Changes to this policy
If we ever add a cookie or a category, we update this page first. A new category means a new consent version, so the banner asks you again before anything new is set.
