Email alerts
Who receives FastPing email alerts, what they contain, which address they come from and how to keep them out of spam.
- Open Alert channels in the dashboard.
- Choose the type Email, give the channel a name and enter the address.
- Click Add channel, then Send test.
Each email channel has one address. To alert several people, add a channel per person or use a distribution list or shared mailbox address, which also lets you change recipients without touching FastPing.
The subject is the alert's headline, for example Down: Shop. The message shows the check's message (such as HTTP 503), the monitor's type and target, the time, where the check ran from, and an Open monitor button that leads to the monitor in your dashboard. A down alert also says that a second check confirmed the failure. Every message has a plain-text version for clients that do not show HTML.
Alerts come from noreply@fastping.app. Add this address to your contacts or to your mail filter's allowlist, and create a rule that never sends it to junk. In company mail systems, ask your administrator to allowlist the sender: security gateways sometimes hold automated messages for review, which delays alerts by minutes or hours.
If no test email arrives within a few minutes, check the spam folder and any quarantine of your mail provider, then check that the address is spelled correctly.
Down alerts sent to your own address always arrive. Recovery, warning and change emails to your address can each be switched off under Email notifications, without changing the channels your team uses: see Email notifications and the weekly uptime report.
Messages about your account (confirmation links, password resets and security notices) always go to the address you log in with, whatever alert channels you have, and team invitations go to the invited address. See Sign-in, passwords and account security.
